The Life Coaching Process

What is a Life Coach?
A Life Coach is a trained professional who inspires and guides you to clarify what has meaning for you and what you want to accomplish. A Life Coach helps you move forward by setting goals, taking actions, overcoming obstacles and achieving success.

Is life coaching like therapy or counseling?
Distinct from traditional analysis or therapy, which deals with history and unresolved issues, coaching focuses on the present and future.  Coaching is forward-looking, action-oriented, affordable, and convenient, because coaching can be done over the telephone from any location in the world.   Imagine!  You can change your life and follow your dream without leaving your home or office.

Who hires a Life Coach and Why?
Coaches work with clients of all ages and areas. Some are contemplating or experiencing a major transition; others are seeking balance in their work, family, and personal lives. Some want to experience new levels of effectiveness and satisfaction, and all want to accomplish more of the things that really matter to them.  Coaching can help anyone who is willing to investigate, experiment, and be open to new possibilities.

How does it work?
The life coaching process is a partnership between you and the coach in which you identify intentions that are important to you, clarify exactly what results you want to achieve, and create action plans so that you can reach your goals. In this trusting, confidential relationship, I am there, as coach, to support you with questions, ideas, suggestions, and strategies so you can move past obstacles you've experienced in the past.

Together, we will create a contract for a certain number of sessions. I recommend a one-hour session each week by telephone for two months to start. These sessions allow you to become familiar with the techniques you are learning to use, and will provide enough practice for you to become proficient at using these new skills effectively.

Coaching is about helping you make real change in your life; therefore, most coaching sessions will conclude with homework – actions that you promise yourself you will take to move you toward your goals.  As your coach,  I will remind you and hold you accountable to what you really want to accomplish.

Is coaching right for you?
The best way to find out what coaching can do for you is to actually try it.

I invite you to contact me for a complimentary session and to discuss the benefits of partnering with a professional coach (760) 424-9980. I’ll contact you to set up a convenient telephone appointment.  I look forward to speaking with you soon!
